Public Encouraged to Attend Drug Conversation With First Responders and Judicial Leaders

United Way for Clinton County and Center Township of Clinton County are partnering together for a series of six conversations where the public can ask questions of local leaders and organizations. These conversations will encourage the public to attend with the first one focusing on first responders and judicial leaders.

The first conversation will focus on statistics from 2017 from the Sheriff’s Department, Frankfort Police Department, Fire Department, EMS and judicial branch. These meeting will be focusing on the community and will enable them to have a voice with local leaders involving all of the topic areas.

These conversations will lead up the release of the United Against Opiate Abuse Project data on July 25. The goal is to build collaboration related to prevention, deterrence and education related to heroin, opiates and other drug substances in our community.

United Way and Center Township believe that by focusing on the following areas and including the public by having them ask questions of our local leaders and community groups. We can build a consensus on solving the problems that face our community in this vital area. Drugs have a negative impact on our community. The hope is that these conversations can lead to the community coming together to make a positive impact.

All conversations will be at 4 p.m. upstairs at the Frankfort Community Public Library. It is imperative that the public attend these meetings for them to be successful. The following are the conservation dates and topics: February 26 (Law Enforcement and Judicial Branch); March 19 (Education and the Impact of Drugs on our Schools); April 18 (Intervention Services); May 23 (Panel of Political Leaders); June 27 (Community Programs) and July 25 (Center Township, United — United Against Opiate Abuse Project and Drug/Alcohol Coalition Presentation).
