The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of central, east central, north central, south central and west central Indiana, including Clinton County, for snow, which is in effect from 7 p.m. this (Thursday) evening to 10 a.m. Friday.
Snow is expected with accumulations of 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts possible. This will result in slick and snow covered untreated roads. Also, lowered visibility will be likely in heavier snow.
Besides Clinton, other affected areas include Boone, Carroll, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Morgan, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion and Warren counties.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
This advisory comes on the heels of a Wind Chill Warning that has gripped the area since Monday with bone-chilling cold from the polar vortex. That warning will expire at 1 p.m. Thursday.
