Impaired Driver Arrested Following Pursuit on Interstate 65 in Clinton County

On February 1, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Indiana State Police Radio Region 1 Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a possible impaired driver traveling southbound on Interstate 65 near the 154-mile marker. Dispatch subsequently received several additional 9-1-1 calls reporting the same vehicle stopped in the left lane near the 152-mile marker.

Trooper Bradley Howell responded to the area and located a 2012 Ford Mustang stopped in the left lane of Interstate 65. Due to prior reports indicating the driver may be impaired, Trooper Howell deployed a tire deflation device in front of the vehicle’s tires. While Trooper Howell was attempting to speak with the driver, the vehicle fled southbound on Interstate 65.

Trooper Howell initiated a pursuit, which continued southbound until approximately the 149-mile marker, where the vehicle came to a stop. Troopers were able to safely take the driver into custody without further incident.

During the course of the investigation, Trooper Howell gathered information leading him to believe the driver was under the influence of both a controlled substance and alcohol. Troopers also located suspected marijuana and suspected mushrooms inside the vehicle. These items will be submitted to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for exact determination of the substances.

The driver was transported to the Clinton County Jail.

The arrested individual was identified as Michael Rogerson, 30, of Indianapolis, Indiana. He faces the following preliminary charges:

  5. Possession of Marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.
  6. Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor.
