A Shout-Out For National Night Out

The free pencils, notebooks, pens, backpacks, crayons, bike helmets, free bike give-away, free folders and stickers just got the evening started.

Several community organizations teamed with law enforcement to share valuable information to kick start the new school year.  It all happened from 6pm to 8pm Tuesday at TPA park south of the new Aviary.

As many as 600 people gathered to celebrate a good start to the new school year, according to Colleen Moore, Police Department organizer of the event.  Families not only had a good time with law enforcement, but walked away with valuable information, fun memories and school supplies. Kids were able to register for a free boy’s or girl’s bike at the Frankfort Police Department table.
