Janie Ann Somers, 66, of Colfax, died April 20, 2019 in her home. Born July 6, 1952 in Lebanon, Ind. To Cloyse H. and Letha (Cook) Street. She married Gerry Somers on December 6, 1970 in Colfax and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2008.
Janie graduated from Clinton Prairie High School. Along with being a Homemaker, she and her mother co-owned the Strawberry Patch Craft Shop in Colfax. She had also worked as a teller at Summit Bank in Colfax, and for H&R Block. She was a member of Colfax Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time at their cottage on the Tippecanoe River and loved being with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her Children: Travis (Melissa) Somers of Valparaiso, Jennifer (Shawn) Pletch of Zionsville, and Joshua (Sháne) Somers of Thorntown; and Grandchildren: Amilla & Aidan Pletch and Cora & Willow Somers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother: Jimmy Street and a step-son: Allen Somers.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.
