Library Awarded Capital Grant From North Central Health

The Friends of the Frankfort Public Library, Inc. is extremely pleased to be selected as one of the recipients of a generous capital grant made possible by North Central Health Services (NCHS) administered by the Tippecanoe Arts Federation (TAF).  We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the value they instill in helping improve the quality of life in our communities.  We feel very fortunate to have been awarded this grant in the amount of $58,696.47 to assist with creating a safer environment, while providing world class productions in our theatre.

Our library staff and theatre groups, Clinton County Civic Theatre and Clinton County Youth Theatre, are looking forward to delivering to our audiences the capabilities of the DMX / LED rear lighting and the state of the art hearing loop system.  The addition of a secured display case in our Anna and Harlan Hubbard Gallery will also be appreciated by artists, staff, and patrons.  This equipment will enhance our theatre and concert performances, public meetings, author visits, art shows, and other special events.  Safety is of utmost importance to us, and the new theatre lights will help reduce having to use a 20-ft. ladder to change the gels in the back lighting.  These lights can be maneuvered directly from the sound and light booth for ease and safety, while creating endless possibilities for our theatre productions.

We are overjoyed to bring the hearing loop system to our community.  Hearing loss can be very isolating, and people tend to withdraw from events they once enjoyed.  A hearing loop system, which is placed under the carpet, will be beneficial for more audiences and programs held in the theatre.  With only two buildings in Frankfort that have this phenomenal system, we are pleased to be a leader in these vital efforts and share this with our community.  We are happy to educate our patrons on the ease of this new hearing assistance, which enables us to serve the entire audience, and not fear if we have enough devices.

Because of this generous gift, we will be making a difference in the lives of many children and adults.  With a project of this magnitude, including carpet replacement due to the hearing loop installation, it would be impossible to fund without the support of NCHS and TAF.  We look forward to seeing you in the Elizabeth O’Rear Skanta Theatre in the coming year when this project is completed.

This project is made possible through a generous grant from North Central Health Services (NCHS) administered by the Tippecanoe Arts Federation.
