Frankfort Library Announces Fine Art Exhibition and Sale

The Friends of the Frankfort Library are proud to announce their 38th Annual Fine Art Exhibition & Sale, Ebb & Flow, happening this November 9-11 at the Frankfort Community Public Library. The exhibit showcases over 80 local and regional artists in a variety of mediums including painting, printmaking, ceramics, photography, jewelry, woodworking, textiles, mixed media, and glass. Purchases at this event enable the sponsorship of arts and children’s programming at the library throughout the year, as portion of each sale supports the Friends. Programs such as the Clinton County Youth Theatre, the Annual Concert Series, and more are made possible by the Friends of the Frankfort Library and this event.

There will be something for everyone at this year’s cultural event. Art Show Patrons are invited to the opening reception on Friday, November 9 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. We will have hors d’oeuvres, live music, and beautiful artwork. Our featured artist, Rena Brouwer, will create a piece of art during the event. Art Show Patrons pledge to spend $60 or more. Ebb & Flow is this year’s chosen theme, and watercolor is our featured medium. We are excited to showcase several very talented watercolorists J. Anna Roberts, Bob Meyers, Pat Hooper, Cherylex Lowe, Diane Kiemeyer, Ann Cole Rose, Jerry Smith, Rebecca Chapman, Noël Johns, and Kelly Johnson.  Hoosier artist Rena Brouwer is this year’s featured artist.  From renabrouwer.com: “Rena Brouwer … has been recognized and winning awards for her watercolors since her high school years.  She has studied under Zolton Szabo, Christopher Schink, Charles Reid and other accomplished artists. A self-taught artist, her collaborative spirit and pursuit of independent creative thinking, resulted in a career in visual design with a corporate company upon graduation from high school. Her career has included working with international fine arts companies in the promotion of their products. Her philosophy has always been to accept challenges and learn from those whom she works with. This directive has brought many diverse opportunities and jobs throughout her artistic career. Having created exceptional watercolors throughout her career, Rena has taught watercolor at national art conventions, colleges, museums, state and nationwide community venues.   She has served on national, state and local boards for art organizations, including the Watercolor Society of Indiana, Midwest Watercolor Society, Indiana Artists Club, and Wabash Valley Watercolor Society.”

This event is made possible by the Indiana Arts Commission, the Tippecanoe Arts Federation, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
