Two Kentucky Men Arrested for Drugs, Gun and Cash

At approximately 11 p.m. Thursday, Clinton County Sheriff Deputies were patrolling on I-65. Deputy Black initiated a traffic stop on a white Nissan Murano traveling north on I-65 at the 159mm.

During the encounter, K9 Gunny was deployed and alerted on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was completed and resulted in the seizure of drugs and over $27,000 in cash. A loaded .40cal handgun was also located on the passenger.

The following subjects were placed under arrest and taken to the Clinton County Jail.

Deandre Johnson, 30, of Louisville, KY was arrested on possession of marijuana and for being a felon in possession of a handgun

Jarrod King, 29, of Louisville, KY was arrested on possession of marijuana.

Deputy Pelling and Sergeant Mitchell assisted on scene.

Formal charges are pending from the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

“Our Deputies had an outstanding night last night patrolling our roadways,” said Clinton County Sheriff Rich Kelly. “Deputies seized drugs, 4 handguns and collected in excess of $61,000 of US currency suspected to be linked to illegal activity while answering all additional calls for service. I am so proud to see the execution of all the training these Deputies have been provided. Their hard work and dedication to this community is a clear demonstration of the selfless men and women we have working in this agency and I am honored to work with all of them.”
