David C. Wilson , 77, of Frankfort, died unexpectedly in his home on June 20, 2023. He was born on September 13, 1945 in Lafayette to Walter Henry and Murrel Louise (Miller) Wilson. He married Jennifer Ruth Moon on August 14, 1971 and she survives. David’s grandmother June (Galeener) Wilson was a very special and loving part of his growing up years.
David was a 1963 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School and enlisted in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War, serving from 1965 to 1967. He worked for Ingram-Richardson Inc. in Frankfort for 13 years and in 1977, he began work at Alcoa in Lafayette where he served 28 years until his retirement on October 1, 2005. David was a member and regular attendee of the Frankfort First Church of the Nazarene, where he served on the church board, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. He was a faithful prayer warrior for anyone that he heard of or knew that needed prayer. In his younger years, he enjoyed horseshoes and basketball and in later years, he enjoyed Michigan cherry coffee, loved sweets – especially donuts, cakes, and pies, enjoyed a cold Fresca and loved all music – especially gospel music, with a little MC Hammer thrown in. His greatest loves were family get togethers, family vacations and watching sunsets in South Haven, Michigan together, and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren – never missing anything that they were involved in.
